How Pro-Lifers Are Treated
About half of Americans are pro-life, but we’re treated as if we’re no better than Islamist fascists.
This video from ABC’s talk show “The View” is representative of how pro-lifers and social conservatives in general are treated by the MSM:
YouTube: “The View” Discusses the ‘Morning-After’ Pill
Elisabeth Hasselbeck was called “extreme” for stating Catholic social teaching. The liberal hosts of “The View” attacked her. Even the “moderate” Barbara Walters went on the offensive, and then inexplicably told Hasselbeck to calm down. The left side of the blogosphere has unleashed all sorts of vile, vulgar garbage at her as well.
We pro-lifers are called liars. We’re called woman haters. We’re called racists. There is no factual basis behind any of these arguments, but the so-called “reality-based” people don’t care about facts.
We pro-lifers are compared with the Taliban and with Nazis. And for what? For standing up in support of human life. For over one hundred years, Catholic teaching has been based on the science that life begins at conception. This is irrefutable biological fact.
The difference of opinion isn’t over whether or not an embryo or fetus is a living thing. Of course they’re living things. The argument is, do you think that unborn human beings have value? Do you think that their lives should be respected? Half of America says yes, and the other half says no. It’s just too bad that one half isn’t allowed to voice its opinion in the media without being condemned as terrorists.
Well said.

Unfortunately pro-life people as usually cast as christian religious extremists. Where does this put atheists, agnostics, or those who are just plain non-religious who are still pro-life? One does not need to be religious to value human life, especially innocent human life. Most criticisms of pro-life positions and supporters have far more noise than content.
