Tuesday’s edition of the Allentown Morning Call, probably in addition to numerous other papers around the state, will be delivered in plastic bags advertising Rick Santorum. This last minute attempt to influence voters on Election Day could be seen as a desperate attempt to retain his embattled Senate seat.
O.M.G.
Stop the presses. Political advertising doesn’t end at midnight on election day morning.
For the record, the sunday’s Philadelphia Inquirer (at least in Montco) was delivered in NRA Bags that said “Vote for Rick Santorum.”
Popular Christian musician Michael W. Smith has made a radio ad in support of Senator Rick Santorum. I just heard it broadcast on WPGB 104.7 FM in Pittsburgh.
Smith recently wrote the following about Santorum on his website:
“Weeks ago….actually months ago I was able to find a date on my calendar to go to Pennsylvania to campaign with, support and encourage my good friend Senator Rick Santorum. Rick is an amazing guy and one of the finest individuals ever to serve our country on Capitol Hill. I believe in him as a candidate and more important as a brother in Christ.”
So much for the talking point that Evangelicals are abandoning the conservatives. Don’t be fooled by the media!
But seriously, in his ad, Casey promises to work together with Republicans.
Really? The same Bob Casey who doesn’t show up to work is going to “work” with Republicans? The same Bob Casey who uses President Bush’s name as a curse word is going to be a uniter?
Senator Rick Santorum has a real record of working together with Democrats on many issues. It’s more than the empty, contradictory rhetoric from Casey:
During my lengthy commute this morning, I realized that the author of the sign is partially correct..Santorum is good, but his talents are not limited to the Senate. Obviously, there is not enough billboard space to list all the reasons why Santorum is good for the Senate, AND Pennsylvania. I figured I’d use my blog-space to continue the train of thought initated by the author of these billboards:
Michelle Malkin says the following image was STUCK on CNN’s Headline News for 15 to 20 minutes today.
Santorum’s opponent, Bob Casey, is going to demand equal freeze frame time with his face captioned with “VOTE AMERICAN.” Can’t get better free advertising than that.

I have confirmed that Rick Santorum ads are still showing on TV in Pennsylvania, proving that the lastest DNC rumor is wrong.
This evening I saw Santorum’s Giuliani ad on Fox News Channel during The O’Reilly Factor, and I just saw his North Korea ad on during Hannity & Colmes. So Santorum ads are still running on cable channels in PA. However, they are temporarily stopped on terrestrial stations as part of a new strategy. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette explains:
According to publicly available reports, Rick Santorum is now 100% dark in Pennsylvania, having paid for no campaign ads today. Santorum has spent more than $9 million on ads so far, but his latest media buy ended last night. Since national Republicans aren’t airing independent ads in Pennsylvania, that means nobody will be on the air on Santorum’s behalf until Santorum himself pays to go back on. So far, Santorum has yet to reserve ad time for the final two weeks of the campaign.
Besides, what’s the point of hanging on to $3.6 million bucks for the next two weeks?
I guess he could give it away, but considering the deal is that Senator Santorum “Keeps Up the Fight,” that would sound like cutting and running. A decidedly Democrat strategy.
